Information we handle
When you browse Ownerpicks, our hosting and security providers process technical information needed to deliver the site, including IP address, requested URL, request time, browser information, referring page where provided, and response or security events. Search terms entered into our guide search form part of the requested URL and may appear in these logs. Do not enter sensitive personal information into site search.
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any information you choose to include. Please do not send passwords, payment details, patient records or other sensitive personal information. Our public articles do not require a reader account or payment.
Why we use information
We use technical information to operate the site, investigate faults and protect it from abuse. We use correspondence to answer questions, investigate corrections and handle privacy requests. Where the GDPR applies, these activities rely on our legitimate interests in operating a secure publication and responding to readers, subject to your rights. We may also process information where necessary to meet legal obligations. If we introduce optional tracking that requires consent, we will seek it before that tracking begins.
Service providers and search performance
Hosting providers and Cloudflare help deliver and secure the website. Our email provider processes correspondence. We use Google Search Console through Site Kit to understand how our pages appear in Google Search; this is not a Google Analytics tag on your visit. We do not currently run Google Analytics or advertising pixels on Ownerpicks.
Providers may process information outside your country. The processing location depends on the service involved. Contact us for information about the providers and transfer arrangements relevant to your request. We may disclose information when legally required or where necessary to protect the site and its users.
Affiliate links and other websites
Some links redirect through Ownerpicks to a software provider with an affiliate referral code. Our redirect does not itself set an affiliate cookie or collect a signup form, but the request may appear in normal server or security logs. The destination provider and its tracking partners may use cookies or other identifiers under their own policies. Read those policies before submitting information or starting a trial. Retention and security
Technical logs and correspondence have different retention arrangements, depending on the hosting, security or email service involved. We have not established one fixed deletion period covering all of these records. Contact us to ask about a particular record or request deletion, subject to any applicable legal obligations. We restrict administrative access and use encrypted HTTPS connections. No system is completely secure. We do not ask you to submit sensitive information to support an editorial correction.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. These rights have conditions and exceptions. Email [email protected] with enough information to identify your request; we may need to verify your identity before disclosing personal information.
You may also complain to the data-protection authority relevant to your location. Browser controls can manage cookies; blocking security cookies may affect access. Our site is written for business software buyers, not directed to children.
